Spiders, anyone?

Spiders are big at our house.  Logan seems to be losing interest in Spiderman but still loves spiders.  I overheard him telling Ryan that spiders are our friends.  Last weekend, I asked him if he wanted me to make a special Mickey Mouse blueberry pancake.  He said no.  He wanted a spider pancake.  It took a couple tries but here it is.  Logan loved eating the legs first.

Yesterday at preschool, Logan's teacher told me he got to say the prayer at snack time.  According to her, he had his prayer hands ready and eyes closed so hard they were fluttering.  Then he said, "Dear God, please wet the spiders build their webs and eat all the fwies and mosquiters.  Amen."  His teacher said she didn't know whether to laugh or cry.  It was so genuine.

This kid cracks me up!  I love being his mommy.  :)

More of Logan

We did some more photos of Logan last weekend.  I wanted to try something different with my camera.  I am so happy we did because some are really cute!

This is my dad's Rat Rod.

Oh, the many faces of Logan.  This is his shocked/surprised look.  Love it!

Giggles

And at some point, the younger brother starts feeling left out and this is what happens.  I love this shot.  That is totally Ryan's mischief face.

Portrait time

Logan and I did a quick photo shoot to document his 5th birthday.  Papa Dan's blacksmith shop has a lot of interesting backgrounds.

I can't believe my first baby is FIVE!  He is getting so big and independent.  His big smile just warms my heart.  I love you, Logan!

The Celebration

Here are some photos of Logan's birthday party.  One of his friends from school has a birthday 3 days before Logan.  So his mom and I decided to have a double birthday party and share the costs.  We invited all the kids in their class and their siblings.  It worked out so well!  Everyone had a good time and the kids LOVED it.

The Little Gym in Gilbert had a great facility for a bunch of wild and crazy kids.  The instructor was even better.  Miss Lindsay was full of energy and kept the kiddos busy and having fun.

Logan's FIVE!

Logan had a great 5th birthday.  It was a two day celebration filled with fun, family and friends.  On Thursday, he choose 5 Guys for dinner and then Grandma Lyn, Ryan and I took him to the bowling alley to play arcade games.  He loved it.

On Friday afternoon, we headed to The Little Gym in Gilbert to celebrate with his preschool friends.  (Pictures to follow)  Then we had the family over for burgers and hot dogs and birthday cake.  (GF per Logan's request.  He wanted his brother to be able to eat it, too.  Isn't he SWEET??)

Happy birthday Logan!

Scooter fun

We're finally back to "normal".  Preschool resumes tomorrow morning- Logan and I have both missed it.  Ryan is back to normal.  At his follow up appointment last week, the doc said he'd healed perfectly and everything looked great.  Yea!  Jason had the week between Christmas and New Year's off so we had a lot of fun as a family.

Friday, my mom and I took the boys to the park to ride their scooters.  Logan's was a Christmas gift and Ryan had Logan's old one.  They both need a little more practice.  :)

I love, love, love this photo of Logan.  He has the best smile.

Ryan seems to be missing the steering part of riding a scooter...

FUN!

Of course, the boys wanted to watch the fish near the water fountain.  I like this park.  As long as you don't want the playground, it's perfect.  Lots of water, sidewalks and fields.

Holy Light

***I am not sure how this happens but this was never posted.  Well, better late than never.

Logan's preschool put on a Christmas show Friday night.  They sang 5 songs and most of them had a speaking part.  Logan's line was "With animals allll around".  He nailed it.  He spent the rest of the show twirling his belt or counting the wisemen.  (There were more than 3.)  It was so cute.

Photo session

I don't believe in New Year resolutions because I think they will be broken the minute they are made.  But I did set some goals for 2012.  It's more of a "to-do" list, really.  One of the things on there is to get through all the photos I've taken but haven't organized or edited.  This should help with the item referring to frequent blog posts.

So here are a few more of my favorites from a photo session with my friend and her family.  We had a lot of fun although it was REALLY cold during our early morning session.

Goofing around...

How handsome is this guy?  :)

Oryx at the Phoenix Zoo

Yes, we're alive and well.  We even made it to the zoo today with friends.  The weather was beautiful so we tried a new route through the zoo and saw some new animals.  FUN!  I will update more later...
